Mysterious events

About one or two weeks ago I discovered a message in the trade chest at spawn, someone named a wooden plank and a piece of sheared grass "If you want to find riches" and "Just follow the wolves". (at least as far as I remember, the chest has been removed again, so I couldn't check)
Today I found a named dog under the bridge towards the melon church named "wktnurxeabd" and thought they might be connected.
I can't really make sense of the name and I don't think someone would waste a nametag to randomly mash on his keyboard and name his dog gibberish.
That's why I wanted to ask if anyone else knows something about this to satisfy my curiosity :3

I have noticed quite a few tame dogs in strange places over the last month or two, including one in the area you mention. I can't say I've troubled to look closely enough to see nametags. I'll be sure to check the next time I see them.

Interesting that it has a yellow name. Judging from other dogs i've seen, they take on the team colour of the owner if they are online. So the person who put it there was online at the time...

I have no idea who was online when I took that screenshot, but nobody reacted when I asked in chat.
May have a look around spawn later too and see if there are more dogs or if the name is still yellow.

A lot has happened a few days ago and it's getting interesting.
tl;dr summary: The dog was part of a riddle that lead to a second yet unsolved riddle.

Long story: _Vagta_ found a sign under the ocean in mare saying "go to the melon church, look at its throne. -mysterious help", so that is what he did.
At the same time I wanted to take a look at the other dogs Aravero mentioned and noticed the dog had been replaced by an item frame containing a compass of the same name, by then Vagta already found two more compasses and showed them to us, the three locations are:
Under the bridge to the melon church (named wktnurxeabd)
On the throne in the melon church (named wktnurydb)
in some grass behind the melon church (named wktnurzecgd)

Vagta noticed the second part of the names could stand for coordinates with the letters corresponding to their position in the alphabet : xeabd = x 5124, ydb = y 42, zecgd = z 5374.
He went there through the Savannah warp and it turned out to be right.

There we encountered an area with lots of giant pumpkins, an X out of pumpkins and an underground chamber containing a chest with three diamond blocks and a book entitled "Riddle 2".
Because I don't want to spam this forum with screenshots and really don't know what's important to check out I will encourage you to go there yourself if you are interested, you can get a copy of the book from me or Vagta.

I do not wish to be annoying, but have you heard about OldRoot and his connections to the server? lilweeph has a google Doc about this, if you wish to check it out.
It does seem connected, with the riddles and the mysterious clues.

It does have similarities, but it couldn't have been oldroot unless he has a 2nd account and plays on Zedwork.
The person who made it:
is Zedling (yellow dog name)
is (at least semi) active on the server (was online when I found the dog, 2nd riddle looked like it took some time to set up)
knows about and visited mare (one hint was hidden there)
has been active as early as over 1 1/2 month ago (latest date the book could've been signed) and as recent as a week ago (dogs were replaced)

I had a look at that dog Aravero, it has the name "Becquerel":

I went to google to find out more, becquerel is a unit in physics counting the number of radioactive decays in one second.
Thinking it might be a hint to the current riddle I searched for "becquerel pumpkin" and the first result was a wiki page of a game called "ms paint adventures" describing a dog with divine powers called "Becquerel" and his first appearance in that game is as a carving in a pumpkin:

Read a bit through the lore but doesn't seem to be of any help for the current riddle.
