[LVS] Spawn Farm

I have a proposal to make. (i should've brought this up at the last meeting but I forgot.) I was wondering if it would be okay for me to add a second floor onto the spawn farm, and it would contain netherwart and cocoa beans. I would build and design the second floor myself and I would make sure that it isn't an eye sore. It would be a simple second floor, with a ladder leading up to it, and it would have around 6 rows of nether wart and 6 rows of cocoa beans. If possible I would add a 3rd floor, which could contain, either more carrots/potatoes (these are popular crops for food), or it would contain mushrooms. The 3rd floor would be in complete darkness so that the mushrooms can spread. I am always at a shortage of netherwart, mushrooms, and cocoa beans, and that is why I bring this up.

I also would like to help out the community a bit.

Let me know what you think! :D

Even without extra floors, just a tiny place that had, like, 4 cocoa beans and 2 spots of netherwart would be a great addition - not even to "farm" them but just so that new players can get a seed amount of those resources. Out on the map you have to go a long way before the various resources scattered around don't seem like part of someone's build!

Yep I agree. Since I can't expand the spawn farm sideways really, the only way is to go up or down. So I thought I should add a second floor or maybe even a third.

I would like to keep the Community Farm as simple as possible for new players, and quite like the open air feel of the farm as it is :)

You could reduce the size of the cane farm to add in nether wart and cocoa beans. As trivialfabricant said, the cane only really needs to provide the seed amount for them. They can be fed quite well with the amount of wheat, carrots, potatoes and melons they have available there.

Excellent! I'm in agreement that this is a swell idea for anyone new to the server.

btw - i found some crops had uprooted due to low light levels and stuck a torch up by the carrot patch to fix it. I'm guessing it just got knocked off some time when someone was on a carrot-cropping frenzy!
