Update 1.4.4 (UPDATE MINECRAFT!!)

A new update has been released for Minecraft. There is not a stable build for Bukkit yet. However, it looks like one will be out much sooner than with previous updates as this is a comparatively smaller one.

So; DO NOT UPDATE.

That is all.

EDIT: You may now update! ^_^

All depends on the Bukkit team. They actually released their first dev build yesterday, so hopefully we'll see a beta build or recommended build within the next couple of days.

To be honest the title "DO NOT UPDATE" confused me on what you were talking about. I thought you meant don't update the forum post or something but now I get it

It seems Minecraft will be updating to 1.4.5 next week. Bukkit development has shifted towards getting ready for that release, so there will not be a stable 1.4.4 release.

I took the following little guide from here: http://www.minecraftmine.org/how-to-dow ... minecraft/

• Download a clean Minecraft 1.4.2 Jar file: http://assets.minecraft.net/1_4_2/minecraft.jar
• Type %appdata% into the start menu
• Open .minecraft folder
• Open the bin folder
• rename the current Minecraft.jar file to Minecraft-bak.jar
• Paste in the clean Minecraft 1.4.2 jar file
• Done

I have not tested this, as I have a Mac And also with 1.4.2 still installed, as I never upgraded. But by the comments, the site seems reputable. Follow the above and you should be able to downgrade to 1.4.2 pretty easily, though do so at your own risk.

The link for the 1.4.2 jar file I took from a post elsewhere by Jak2131.
