Hey people!

Xisumavoid recently published this video where he shows you how to create a Elytra wing launcher. It requires few resources (though lots of wood) and launches you to about 700 blocks upwards before loosing momentum. Could be created around the server for you winged people.

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing this, Forseth. Unfortunately due to the number of entities (boats) it requires I have been requesting they not be used. Though if you wanted to build a modified version of this which turned it "on" and "off", by removing and placing the boats, then that would be fine so long as its switched "off" at all times when not in use.

Ah, naturally. Didn't even consider the effect of having 100+ entities in one location.

From my experiments it appears tnt is the way forward with this as it makes all the boats drop as item entities which can then easily be collected with hoppers built into the bottom of the launcher.

This will require modification of the design, in paticular boat loading mechianisms need to be left in rather than removed as most tutorials suggest. As I did mine from a different design (that allows mid flight launching) I cannot help with this right now, although I may have a look and see what can be done with this one. Launching off a ladder seems so much easier.

Made a launcher based on Xisuma's design earlier today on the server. with a few tweaks it can easily be made to have a tnt dispenser to break the boats and a item elevator to place the boats back in the refilling chests. If anybody want an idea how to do it let me know. :)
