[Zz] Base In Progress

Recently I happened to stumble across my screen shots folder, and noticed I had about five hundred screenshots lying around from the last six years. Most of them are random moments, captured due to my screenshot key (b) being to close to my movement keys (rdfg).
~
Because of these accidental screenshots - and some purposeful ones - I have managed to make a gallery of my base's evolution, among other things. I thought it was interesting and that others would enjoy seeing it? At the very least, maybe this will inspire you to rebind your screenshot key uncomfortably close to your movement keys! I would love to see your own base's progress.

Edit: Gathering resources for the maze and placing in the walls.

"I've never been a fan of multiplayer - I've had one single player world since I first started playing. Recently, however, I wanted to see what multiplayer was like, and so had a look for a quiet server I could join and found Zedwork. Since joining I have met some really cool people and seen some amazing builds! I'm glad I did venture into this, and, unfortunately, I'm gonna have to stick around in order to get this base done D:" June 2nd 2017

Neat! I think I'll go through my old screenshots, see if I have enough to see the evolution of my base. :D

That would be great!
Even if it's only the odd, accidental screenshot here and there, it'd be cool to see how far it's come.

When I screenshot something I need to click onto the link in chat, open it, and save it manually. How do I set this to save them automatically?

This looks super cool. Perhaps I should make a folder, maybe not of progress of my bases, but just all my bases, would still be a good amount of photos.

Screenshot Saves

If you open the resourcepack screen and click "Open resourcepack folder", go back a folder and there should be one called "screenshots".

They should automagically save in there. Not sure why they're not, if they don't. Maybe try running Minecraft with Administrative permissions?

As Mellori said, the screenshots do save automatically. Admittedly MC could do a better job of either telling you where it's being saved or perhaps even not saving it in a hidden folder. They are only saved there if you use the in-game screenshot method (F2).

On the other hand, the location for the Minecraft folder in general is
-- On Windows
Code: Select all
%appdata%\.minecraft
(You can type this in to a folder's address bar or into a run prompt (Win+R)
-- On Macintosh
Code: Select all
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

Inside that folder there should be a screenshots folder. I usually pin the folder to the quick access on Windows for convenience. And it probably is easier to use the resource packs folder method mellori mentioned.

Tad off topic, but hope it's helpful!

... So you build a giant box with a maze inside so people can't get to you ;)
