https://zedwork.co.uk/wiki/Zedling_Coun ... 2018-05-19If you would like to apologise for next week's meeting, please post it below!
Any topics that you would like to discuss should also be shoved down there too, let's get chatty.

Updated: 22nd May 2018Hi guys and gals. please check out a couple proposals for the Forest Hills Warp renovation here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/9zxi2gaw0 ... P.zip/fileI approximated the landscape a bit, but it's just 'eye-balled' so please bear with me. Skullo and I love the medieval-punk kind of vibes (but I made this particular monstrosity on my own), so I kinda went there, but it can be toned down to pure mediaeval vibes easily. I didn't know if the warp could be easily relocated, cuz it would make symmetry a lit easier to achieve, but for now, it is what it is. I am trying to centre the warp and the portal in their respective spaces so they don't just feel 'squeezed up in a corner', and there are 'powered down' versions of the warp and portals for balance. Run around in it and see how it feels. I'm open to suggestions.
I know it's kind of 'open' but I thought it would be nice to see FH all around it while moving around in it. It's more of a stone henge that got built on than a constructed enclosed building. Also, I half-slabbed a lot so that lighting would not have to be overdone, yet mob spawning areas would be nil. If y'all don't like the vibe no worries.
Peace and Love!

After reading the notes (great job as usual), please remember my connection was as bad or worse than Sky's at this time, I withdraw my proposal for renovation. If everyone's happy with it the way it is I don't want to mess with it.

As I tried to get across in the notes, only me and Ara liked the way it was, I think everyone else is ambivalent at best.
If you have cool plans then go for it, make some sexy changes!

It's not a matter of being happy with it. No one has had any inspiration to do anything for Forest Hills for a long time. And the last time someone undertook a major renovation of Forest Hills, it was never finished. So the thought of starting all over with renovations just doesn't excite most of us. But If you feel like that is something you want to do, feel free to put forward your suggestion and we will see.

Before I begin, I would like to state that this topic has been stated a few dozen times within the past year, and I would like to add clarification to a few aspects...
Normally this topic is referred to as border expansion; I don't necessarily want that... bear with me. Don't hate me Zed
I would like to add in the Woodland Mansion point into this; I know that this topic has come up dozens of times but I don't think once I have made a big point of saying Woodland Mansions are a really wanted feature, especially since the ocean content has been taking more of a forefront.
I have been avidly hunting advancements on LVS for some time, and I have all of the possible advancements at the moment. The two you cannot achieve is monsters hunted; as we lack Vindicators, Evokers, and Vexes. I also cannot get postmortal, because we do not have totems of undying.
I recall we had talked about ocean regeneration, or some level of it, post-1.13. I really would like to make it known legitimately that I would like roofed forest regeneration as well, if possible. I think deserts would be another good one, since a fair percentage of desert temples have been looted. Mesa mineshafts are another, and the fact that some of the mesas around River Bend and Mul'gore are old mesas, and do not even contain gold.
Short answer; i feel like the ocean regeneration is a good point, but if ocean regeneration is coming into play, why not consider other biomes while we are at it? I really would prefer Woodland Mansions specifically, if not deserts and mesas. I just wanted to raise this point because I don't think it has ever really been stated legitimately that some players, specifically advancement hunting players, are at a bit of a disadvantage.

Hey, you know how it's been a while since we've played last-minute Host Musical Chairs? And how much everyone really enjoys that? Well you're in luuuuuuuck!
By which I mean, I'm not here this weekend so someone else will get the dubious honour of hosting, by which I mean, trying and failing to control the meandering nature of council conversations. I would volunteer Mem, but I think that bear is best left unpoked.

Regenerating other biomes may be a possibility, but this will be somewhat experimental tech so I would definitely want to start out with simpler biomes. Water is, pre-1.13, a barren wasteland. It will be much easier to differentiate oceans with player-placed blocks versus oceans without, where-as woodland mansions and villages complicate things a bit.
So yes, maybe! But one step at a time, please.

#MansionsForAB
I thought we all agreed in a previous meet that the world border would be expanded at 1.13 to solve this issue? Like there was a vote and everything, or am I just imagining that?
I wouldn't be against regening woodland, as long as it doesn't give us those ugly ZZ style cliffs all over the world... I would strongly oppose this if it caused that.
