ZestyLand: A SkyGrid server for Zesty Subscribers

As we have discussed in both the Zurvival Zedkins and LVS Council meetings, ZestyLand is going to be reborn as a SkyGrid server on the 15th March 2019, with the grand opening starting at 6PM GMT!

The server will be exclusively available for Zesty Subscribers. All Zesty and Zesty+ Subscribers should be whitelisted (post below if you are an existing Zesty Subscriber and find you are not).

Zesty Subscribers will be able to explore a grid of floating blocks in the sky, and try to survive and thrive together!

Looking around you should be able to see most blocks you might need to get started, however getting to them can be a bit perilous. Be careful, and try not to fall!

You may find a few things you are not used to on this server (beyond the er, unusual landscape). mobGriefing, doFireTick and PVP are enabled. ZestyLand is still in the spirit of the other survival servers; where you are expected to play civilly among one another. I will be severely disappointed if I find I cannot trust our Zesties to behave.

The world will be temporary. Please do not get too attached, and take lots of screenshots of all that you accomplish. I'd love to see and read all about the adventures you have on the ZestyLand SkyGrid.

Have you played SkyGrid before? Do you have any tips for success? Please, share your wisdom below!

SkyGrid lands on ZestyLand from the 15th March with the grand opening starting at 6PM GMT, lasting through 'till the 15th April 2019.
The ZestyLand server will be accessed at: latest.zedwork.co.uk:25566
You must be an existing Zesty Subscriber to access this server.

There's just over a week until ZestyLand SkyGrid launches! I thought I should start dropping some info here for what you can expect to find in the grid.

There's plenty of stone, grass and dirt in the grid; but you might spot a few of the less common blocks if you take some time to look out in all directions!

Prismarine, sponge and tnt are some of the rarest blocks in the grid.

Pre-filled loot chests may, rarely, appear in the grid. They can be difficult to spot amongst all of the log blocks out there, but are well worth finding; these chests can contain loot normally found in structures throughout the world.

Mob spawners can be found dotted about throughout the grid, which spawn a variety of mobs. The standard zombie/skeleton spawners are there, of course, but this is far from a standard world; The skygrid can generate spawners for 42 different kinds of mobs!

Have you ever made an ocelot farm? How about a vindicator farm..? Perhaps you can finally become an automated Llama Farmer! It's like a whole new game.

Though be warned, the grid can become a whole lot more dangerous under certain unlucky conditions. An elder guardian spawner can become deadly in the grid, for example.

The overworld isn't the only world to be transformed into a 3-dimensional grid of blocks; the nether is a skygrid too! For the first time, you will be able to fall into the void of the nether with ease! How exciting.

Lava will block many paths you might take through the grid. Be careful not to let it spill! Building near lava, or water in the overworld, will cause it to start flowing out in all directions; and that's quite dangerous for anyone on the blocks below.

Hiya! Looks like we have all the ingredients for the end on the Zestyland SkyGrid server, courtesy of some clerics, some blazes, and a little bit of hard work by all the Zesties. This means we're nearing the endgame, and will be able to venture forth into the end. The date is set to be Saturday, March 23rd, directly after the LVS council meeting. Bows, arrows, snowballs, beds, and maybe even some good old fisticuffs may be required to beat the ender dragon. More fight plans will be gone over at the time. Looks to be a great time, hope to see all you Zesties there!

ZestyLand's SkyGrid has been updated with new blocks! You can now find Stone Bricks in the grid, including mossy, cracked and chiseled, and more of the new aquatic blocks including seagrass, sea pickles and various kinds of coral. Also there's cobble. Perhaps most excitingly, Elytra can now be found in the end! Shulker spawners have a chance to generate with an Elytra in an item frame stuck to one of its sides. That'll be tricky to grab!

A Terrible Fortress and The City at the End of the Game advancements are now attainable by finding a chest which would normally generate in the structures usually required to earn them in a vanilla world. Look out for Nether Bridge and End City Treasure loot chests in the grid to complete them.
