Zedwork

Having talked to a few of our Zedling i have discovered a bit of an issue with the title and appropriate recognition. First, I ask "What is a Zedling?" To me that is a player on the server who is a member of the community. It is a person who could be asked questions regarding some of the finer points of Zedwork. How do I claim land?, and these general concerns new players have. And much of our Zedling population is exactly that, loyal and helpful, overall wonderful people.
However, a player just joining the server and demanding food may be directed to vote; earning them the title. Now this person is forever a respected member of the community as the title suggests, but they are clueless as to how Zedwork gets business done. This I am feeling is a problem. Along with the progressive lack of recognition for players who do not act in a "staff" capacity but have been playing on the server for a great length of time with unblemished records, or only minor infractions.
I don't know the answer to this problem. In my opinion though, there should absolutely be a more thorough recognition system for those loyal community members to distinguish them against the "brand new" Zedlings. Maybe title Decay, or having to vote greater than X days a week or something. If those things are even feasible for us, I also don't know. Maybe another title, I know Zed has spoken against the over flux of titles and confusion to new players though. I think perhaps some of this could be contradicted by the fact when they join they are the only people (except mdes ) who is without a fancy color title.
I am probably just rehashing an old post in this, I feel as though if we work together we can solve this. Maybe I am crazy, and it is not as big of an issue as I think. Please Zedlings, speak freely

I agree with the x days thing, I myself oblige to do this, I felt unprepared to receive the tittle as a knew not much of zedwork (I still learn from time to time) and hope to know more, but I recognized that I had been there a month and knew the basics. There is another option they could be selected, this should not be done by mere zedlings, it should however be applied by guardians. If there is any way to get the title to start at light green and keep on darkening that would be appreciated, but not to go beyond green.

I personally think that there isn't a problem with the titles. Veteran Zedlings know who is who, they know who is new and who isn't. These Zedlings always help out whenever they can and I hope that new players will follow their example. If someone wants a new title, then they can always donate to become a Zesty and inherit the new recognition that comes with the new title.

If however the powers that be wish to give veteran Zedlings new titles, then so be it. I just hope that this doesn't create tension between veteran Zedlings (i.e.: why does he get a title and not me...)

On a personal note: I am not particularly concerned with titles, I always endeavour to help others whenever I can regardless of my station as do most people on Zedwork. Distinguishing old players from the new players could be a useful thing i suppose, as long as there is a purpose. As the old saying goes: If it ain't broke...don't fix it.

i like the idea cause some people that just log on shouldnt be able to get the title right away maybe after being on the server for a certain time they can get one
