Why New Players Shouldn't get banned for Stealing.

Here players may contest the decisions of the ban, or provide extra personal accounts of their crimes.

In reguards to this, Honestly, I do not agree on stealing Although, their is one specific point I do half, agree with, and that is trees are, in fact harder to find now, but not impossible. As some players have claimed large masses of just, trees, and trees alone, yet havn't built on that claimed land. Which personaly, I do not agree with, As for a player to already, have a claimed land of just trees, usualy means they have a steady base/house, In which they can quite easily, just make more trees, as I have claimed points in my own land, and built it into a tree farm, without having to claim "free" trees within the map,

Again, that is my personal argue on the subject, not that people shouldn't be allowed to do so, as that is not my arguement in such subject, more so it is, harder to find trees in certain regions/alot of regions, now, I'm going to guess, some of the 'new' spawn points, are old spawns, not new ones, as I had gone to 'new region' a few weeks ago, problem was, all mines were already dug out, and alot of trees in the area around the spawn were claimed. Not talking 10-20 trees, talking quite alot more than that.

Personally, I don't know anything about this, but if the chest stolen from was a honey chest, I'm pretty sure all the signs that said "don't steal from me" would be a good enough hint to stay away from their stuff. Also, if new players actually read the two books given to them, they would know that stealing is unacceptable for any circumstance. I don't know about any of you guys, but when I joined the server before the books existed, someone gave me a bunch of tools and armor to help me start out and also explained the rules to me. Seeing that the rules no longer need to be explained to all newcomers because of the books, I'm still sure that other players who have played longer would be willing to help. Then again, I don't know anything about this page, niether do I have any place in this conversation, so my argument may be invalid.

Whilst I do not know of any examples of this, it is entirely possible. Though, in the current /newestregion trees are plentiful, I found one seemingly empty claim covering a group of trees. Deep underground the player has an animal farm, which would be invisible to anyone above ground. The rest, however, are free for the taking (besides those close to some players' houses)

It was not a honey chest in this instance, but another players personal chest. Was caught in the act by a Guardian, who found the players' behaviour suspicious. But as you say, it is in the books.

No stealing, ever, for any reason. That's my take. :)

Ah, That, May have been the very spot I were reguarding. Although while true, the issue is still, at hand, although not a very big, problem, As I do remember at one point, you Zed, had claimed an entire forest besides Torch. Although you did remove it, that in it's self, would have made quite abig problem, as players would be running for a while, to find one tree.
Which springs back to the problem, Sometimes, a new region could be a desert, now if that is to happen, they are now stuck, in the middle of the desert, no trees, and just, the honey house to be safe in until they figure out how to switch regions, which by that time, could have easily been days.

Although, As Jaber had pointed out one small other problem, Now they have books, No-one really, needs to speak on the server anymore, especially not to the new players, which brings up abit of an "unwanted" feeling as such, I thought your reason for not having Skype, was to stop that problem? Now, the books do cause the same problem...

Actually, I never did work out what you were on about... as far as I could tell, I neither claimed it nor unclaimed it. Assumed it was just one of the trees closest to the village or something.

The regions are scanned for resources when selecting a new region, if there are no nearby trees (or not enough of them) the region will simply move on to a better one. So the above should not happen.

I'm not sure where that's coming from. It seems that new players are spoken to more now than they used to be. If they can join and start playing without having to ask questions, I think that's a good thing. One problem, though, is that there are many more players online than before. Sometimes, new players can get lost in the waves of chat flying up the screen. This is an issue which I am working on resolving.
