So i logged on minecraft this morning to see i was banned on your server and it gave me this message, "Kicked whilst connecting to lvs: You are banned from this server! Reason: Unacceptable chat behaviour." now i understand that the server is supposed to be "family friendly" but at the same time we are americans and the ESBR ratings do not apply to online interactions. I would appreciate it if i were to be unbanned for a second chance. Thank You.

I thought I'd point out that:
A) the server is not hosted in the US
B) I think the reason you were banned was because your ingame chat habits were unbecoming of what would be defined as "family friendly"
C) the ESBR has no jurisdiction over what a host deems unacceptable for their server.
Best of luck.

Insisting that all behavior is fine for the community because there is no law punishing one for the distasteful behavior does not mean that the community should allow all behavior.
Starting from the birthplace of democracy in ancient Greece, and further explained by philosophers exploring Natural Law, it has been understood that for freedom and personal liberty to exist, citizens have the obligation to protect the community through personal commitment to right action that does not steal the life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness from others.
For instance, flag burning is permitted under the law in the U.S., but should the community shrug and say "burn it if you want to" to the individual when, as a nation, the U.S. buries their fallen military men and women under the flag and when the enemies of the U.S. angrily burn the flag?
Burning the flag is a bad action that a citizen has the right to do. Citizens have the right to stand up and say "we will not tolerate bad actions here." The individual then has the liberty to move somewhere that has less objection to the bad action or do the bad action in the privacy of his or her home without the censor of the community.
As a citizen of the U.S., I find it an ugly assault on the founding principles of our nation when people wield the American commitment to liberty and freedom like bat that can beat through all appeals to right action or justice.
Peace,
Empress Bethany

“Every sane man recognises that unlimited liberty is anarchy, or rather is nonentity. The civic idea of liberty is to give the citizen a province of liberty; a limitation within which a citizen is a king.”

UnwindingBag982,
This appeal is very unapologetic. I have no reason to believe that this unacceptable chat behavior will not continue if you are allowed to rejoin the community. While I did not reply to it, your reference to rape (I do not remember exactly when that was, only that you were still a Zookie) really set me off and made me wish more than ever that players could be personally muted. I, too, am from the U.S. and I agree with Bethany that trying to use nationality as justification is an ugly assault on our culture.
If you are allowed back, I hope you are put on a very short leash. This server has a reputation to uphold, after all. Those are my two cents on the matter.
Regards,
ACER

Why so much hate from what seemed to be a friendly community?

Sorry for the delay in processing your appeal.
Your vulgar, racist and sexist comments are simply not acceptable in this community. Your complete lack of apology for your behaviour when asked to stop in-game by others does not suggest you would change your behaviour, followed by your appeal here which seems to leave little doubt that you have no intention of changing your behaviour as you feel you have the right to act how you please without regard for others around you. Thankfully, we have the right to refuse to accept your behaviour.
Your ban remains.
(As an American citizen I believe you would be entitled to speak freely without arrest by your government, however your speech is not protected from civil consequence. I suggest you consider your behaviour in future, as others in your life do not have to tolerate it either.)
