I was looting a chest in a mineshaft i thought it was just loot but then 5 seconds later i got banned for stealing. is this ban temporary or pernament? for how long is this ban? can i please get unbanned?

Actually, you were not in a mineshaft when you got banned, but in an unfinished temple. There was a sign above the chest saying "Work in Progress, please do not take from this chest".
