Topics

I - Pranks and Prejudice - Pettmol

"It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that a minecraft player in possession of a good sense of mischief, must be in want of a prank.'"'

There has been a surreptitious history of pranking on Zedwork - Pett raised the suggestion of setting up a noticeboard in the end somewhere, so that people could notify the world at large if they were up for pranking.

In true council fashion this subject meandered across the whole range of things that could possibly be discussed on this subject. One general consensus was that a player should not be able to prank without also inviting prankish retribution. The main concern was how players could explain what level of pranks were acceptable to unleash on them, so that pranked players didn't get more than they bargained for.
Zed suggested having rulesets that people could easily reference to see what level of pranks they could get away with.

This topic caused a lot of interest, but warranted more extensive discussion. Mem directed Pett to kick the topic to the forums so that this could be discussed in further detail. Pett will look into making up some rules which we should hopefully see on the forums for feedback soon!

II - Sleep and Peace - tim1996

"If everyone fought for their own naps there would be no war."

Sometimes a player wants to have a heckin' sleep on the server. Being a multiplayer server, this requires that everyone online is also a-bed.
Tim has seen a plugin that circumvents this, allowing a single player to sleep the night away, and wondered whether that was possible on LVS.

Zed was against the main concept, feeling it would deny 'night' to other players who may wish to dwell in the darkness. He recalls he had previously discussed a way to allow one player to sleep, with other players 'agreeing' to the night-skip without needing to be near a bed, or a notification when someone is sleeping to show how many players are not in bed. It is on the fabled to-do list, though the council generally felt it was a low-priority. Zed may look into itTM after 1.13 when he has new commands to play with

III - The Zookies Guide to LVS - Pettmol

"Don't Panic. It's the first helpful or intelligible thing anybody's said to me all day."

Pett came back again to say he'd had thoughts (always a dubious tactic in a council meeting) on making a book with tips and tricks for new people, that could be put at spawn somewhere.
Ara suggested utilising the 'bonus box' within the zookie stand, which is crying out for a more substantive holding than, let's face it, random junk.
There was much discussion on how to stock up materials, with several councillors offering to supply the requisite leather, feathers, ink (poor passive mobs, what did you do in former lives to deserve such a fate?).
There was then some confabulation on how a book is actually copied, before several members turned the amp back down from 11 to suggest the original book be kept somewhere safe from light-fingered miscreants so that more copies could be made as required. This topic kind of meandered off on its own and I think this was the point that a creeper managed to get through mem's mob-proofing to try and blow him up.
Luckily an /astounding/ number of members had brought weapons with them and despatched the mob before mem exploded. Not putting it past mem to have bribed the creeper to dispatch him if the meeting started dragging, but in any event, I vaguely assume Pett is going to get his writing cap on again to try and get a book sorted, yay!

IV - The Murder Games - ABP

"May the odds be ever in your favour"

Few may recall the last time ABParadigm invited everyone to try killing him, and you may not even know that Zed ended up eviscerating him in a way only a server host can - with a god bow and a hint of surprise.

For reasons best left to himself, ABP has decided not only to throw this gauntlet down again, but to publicise it more so that everyone can have a go. I was a little concerned that he didn't lead with the fact that this 'kill him' game was not starting until next Friday, though luckily he was astute enough to avoid the three councillors who made attempts on his life during the meeting. Some folk just don't respect guest right.

So, between Friday 13th (11:59pm) and Friday 20th (11:59pm), ABP is inviting you to try to kill him. Be the first, and he'll give you ten diamond blocks, plus anything in his inventory (excluding shulker boxes).
There are a bunch of other rules, but luckily he posted a lovely forum thread you can see here: Clicky

AnnouncementZ

Almost immediately Zedwick through the imaginary speaking stick at an unsuspecting Homi, but luckily he managed to get the hint and started waxing lyrical about our very own Zestygame, DungeonDash!
After a lot of work by Dax Homi and the many corpses of their testers, it is being released as a game on LVS!
There's easter eggs, there's dungeon bosses, and if you're anything like me, lots and lots of soul-crushing death. Extra content may also come in the future - more rooms, more items, more enemies even more death
Got feedback? Let Homi and Dax know! If you enjoy it be sure to give them a shout as they have certainly worked very hard to bring this to us.

It's available now for Zesty+ Subscribers (read more about that HERE) why is it not called zestier, zed, it's right there, get out of here w/ your math smh

Other dates for your calendars/diaries/scrolls/brains:

Sunday 8th April 6pm BST - UHC. It's the big monthly UHC! Last time saw Sneaky regain his title while half the players were murdered by that border. Come one, come all, try not to get murdered!

Friday 13th - Free hosting weekend of DungeonDash! Anyone will be able to host our latest Zestygame

Friday 20th - PUHC becomes hostable by Zesty+ Subscribers. A 'pocket' version of the big UHC, designed to be a faster game that gets to the murder faster. Trees auto-fell, ores autosmelt, food autocooks, wood tools become enchanted stone tools. Get your gear, get a shield, get a water bucket, run from that border and into eachother! PUHC will also be hostable by Zesty+ subscribers only, mostly due to the large server requirement for running the game.

Post-scripts/Nominations/Next Meeting

BenClass10 asked about MissileWars, an old zestygame. Zed explained that it was somewhat replaced by Bridgewars, zedlings preferring to kill eachother via bridges, but with enough interest missilewars may make a return in a lter minecraft version. As it is, the current missile wars version (1.8) doesn't gel with MC's current 1.12.

SooprJ and lazypsycho are working on an ink farm, and they're thinking of making it public! Everyone was very enthusiastic and he promised to make another announcement once it was finished. He also called the farm 'Soopr', so gets Spec's spotlight for best hecking wordplay.

There were no nominations, and I volunteered to host next meeting. See you all in two weeks!
