Glow signs, more like slow signs, amirite - Dax23333

Dax's handsomely keen sense and thonky brain has identified that the reason the spawn market has been dropping frames as of late is because glow signs are extremely lag-inducing.
As such discussion was opened up as to how best to limit their usage to keep the market as smooth as possible for everyone; should there be an upper limit, should they be allowed at all? They are useful to highlight particular deals, so there was not a desie to ban them outright.
The decision was made to limit glow signs to 1 per player shop, and see how the performance levels look and whether it can be increased from there.
Glowy-sign shop owners will be contacted and given a grace period of a couple weeks to un-glow their signs, Zriends will mop up any remaining shops by the end of the next council meeting.

Wall, hurh! What is it good for? Fancy decorating! - Darthduck

The big ol' wall decorate-a-thon part 2 electric boogaloo begins again tomorrow, Sunday 24th 6pm BST
Bring your creativity and your thinking caps; there are still plenty of materials provided through generous donations from Forseth, so come on down and decorate some walls of the beginner farm!
After the event the area will remain open for decorating for the week following so people can continue to work - more details on the forum thread here!

Warden raid updates - Darthduck

We attempted to raid the warden on ZZ, but he peskily hid from us, as it turns out ancient cities are tough to find!
Another raid will be attempted in a few months; his spies have indicated a city has potentially been located and further research has been undertaken to assist in a higher survival rate. Huzzah!

Beginner Farm - Darthduck

Seeing a few more friendly faces to bounce ideas off, Darth brought up again the challenge of farm expansion - it's surrounded on most sides by older buildings, so tricky to know how to accommodate the things from future updates.
Overground? There's a small bit of area next to the Beginner Hotel - possibly!
Underground? There lies the ancient glorious ruins of the former market. At this point Dave and Payne began humming the Wombles theme, showing the age of everyone who would get that reference ;D
Lower underground than that? Possibly! Who knows what other secrets lie beneath the ancient grounds of spawn :o
Above, on floating islands? Also possibly!
As a final update, Darth happily reported that the farm had gone some 6 months without being griefed, and generally seem to be going well! Zed thanks Darth for his continued dedication to keepig it nice for our new players :D

Zednouncements

Zed has been working on the ongoing Zestygames problems and has made MILD PROGRESS! The best kind of progress. Their return is a case of when, not if! :D
Also having said there was no news, he then rocked the council to its core by advising that there was in fact news! The Resource Dimension warp post wll now accept both mobs and animals when returning to the overworld. So, if you've found any cute lil things there that you'd like to import to the main server, you may do so! Travellers are advised to give their mobs a proper shove through the portal as interdimensional trave is confusing.
Mobs, like players, will arrive in the spawn building!
The issue with allays (that they currently don't pick up items they find) is also experiencing mild progress as Zed and Dax look pensively at clipboards and codes to try and find a way that they will pick things up as intended. Their inventories do not work like other mobs, their interactions with non-stackable items a perturbing mystery, but the thinking is described as 'going...kinda well?'. Bold words from our gallant technical department!
