What is Advancement Hunters?
Compete as a team to earn the most advancements within the time limit! All advancements are worth 1 point each, so your team must decide which advancements to go for and when to get the most out of your time. Hostable at any time by Zesty+ Subscribers.
Gameplay
A key part of doing well in Advancement Hunters is knowing what advancements to go for, which to prioritise and which to avoid. Many advancements can be easily obtained for simple things such as planting a seed or eating some food but others take serious dedication, like serious dedication. The following section will list the advancements available as of 1.15.2 and thier implications to Advancement Hunters.
Obtainable Advancements
These advancements are (given enough skill) consistently obtainable through the course of the game and should be considered a priority.

Minecraft | Obtain Crafting Table | First step to any world. |
Stone Age | Obtain Cobblestone | Cobble is known to be the best block in the game. |
Getting an Upgrade | Obtain Stone Pickaxe | You had to ruin cobble for this, you monster! |
Aquire Hardware | Obtain Iron Ingot | Iron is needed for many advancements and should be a priority. |
Suit Up | Obtain any iron armor | Iron Boots are the cheapest. A full suit is not important unless going into the nether. |
Hot Stuff | Obtain Lava Bucket | A bucket is very useful as it can give this, Tactical Fishing and be used to access the nether without diamond. |
Isn't It Iron Pick | Obtain Iron Pick | Needed for obtaining diamond. |
Not Today, Thank You | Deflect Arrow with Shield | Shields are generally useful and only cost one iron. |
We Need to Go Deeper | Enter the Nether | Can be done very quickly using buckets to place lava into a portal frame. Unless this is the only nether advancement you are going for, it is wise to come better prepared than that. As the world is small most players will end up in the same portal. The first in has a major advantage. |
Nether | Enter the Nether | Root of the Nether advancement tree and usually obtained immediatly after We Need to Go Deeper. |
Adventure | Kill or Be Killed | This root advancement can be obtained simply by being afk. |
Monster Hunter | Kill a hostile monster | Needed to obtain string, among other things. |
Ol' Betsy | Shoot a Crossbow | Hitting anything with it is not required. |
Sweet Dreams | Sleep in a bed | Wool is easily obtained from sheep. This is an easy one but gains no other benifits. |
Take Aim | Shoot something with a Bow | You actually have to hit something for this one. String required for bow. |
Hired Help | Summon Iron Golem | 36 iron is needed for this, and a carved pumpkin (requiring shears). A use for all that iron you'll find. |
Sniper Duel | Kill a skeleton with a projectile while being at least 50 blocks away horizontally | Tricky but can be consitently obtained. |
Husbandry | Eat Anything | Peice of Cake! |
The Parrots and the Bats | Breed two Animals | Most easily obtained by breeding chickens with seeds while running around for other things. |
Best Friends Forever | Tame an Animal | Sitting on a Horse or Llama is the easiest way to get this. |
Fishy Business | Catch a fish with a rod | String required for fishing rod. |
A Seedy Place | Plant a Seed | Easily forgotten but very easy. |
Tactical Fishing | Catch a fish with a bucket | The second reason buckets are useful. Fish can be hard to find so best to get this as early as possible. |

These advancements can usually be obtained but sometimes despite best efforts are not gained.

Ice Bucket Challenge | Obtain Obsidian | Requires mining obsidian with a diamond pick (3 diamonds). |
Cover Me With Diamonds | Obtain Diamond Armor | Boots are cheapest at 4 diamonds. |
Enchanter | Enchant an Item | Requires 2 diamonds, obsidian (and pick to get this...) leather and paper. |
Return to Sender | Kill a Ghast with a Fireballl | Usually not too tricky to get if you get a ghast firing at you. |
A Terrible Fortress | Enter a Nether Fortress | Can require a lot of finding but opens up more advancements. |
Into Fire | Obtain Blaze Rod | Easy to get if a fortress is found. Best to get 2-3 of these for other advancements. |
Local Brewery | Brew a Potion | Netherwart is not required, a water bottle can be placed and removed in the output. Or brew a mundane potion. |
What a Deal! | Trade with a Villager | Finding a village is the tricky bit here. Once found they usually have piles of hay bales which can be broken down into wheat to trade with a farmer. |
Bee Our Guest | Use a Campfire to collect Honey from a Beehive using a Bottle without aggravating the bees | Finding a hive can be difficult and bees often forget where they live and wander off, making this unreliable. |
