There are many ways you can contribute to Zedwork, and barely any of them involve monetarily supportive payments! Becoming a Zesty Subscriber helps tremendously in helping Zedwick pay the bills and keep working hard on all areas of Zedwork, but there are plenty of other ways to help out too!
The Wiki
Our wiki is a collaborative effort to document all things Zedwork. Anyone with a fully registered Zedwork forum account can edit and create pages on the wiki. You can help make sure pages are fleshed out and up to date, and keep all the lore, plugins and features documented. Check the Wiki Guidelines for more details, and to find out which pages are in need of work.
Development
Some of the software which runs Zedwork is open source, and you are highly encouraged to contribute code.
Java
Here are some java projects which you are encouraged to contribute to:
- PopulationDensity : For Region posts on Zz
- GraviTree : For trees which have gravity on Zz
- GriefPrevention : For claims/protections on Zz
- BungeeChatFilter : For chat filtering
Datapacks
One of our Minecraft datapacks are also open source. You can freely check it out and contribute to any issues:
- VillagerItemCollector : To allow villagers to pick up items and breed on LVS
Testing
With each new update, there is always opportunity for new features to create problems with our plugins on Zz, or an overlooked issue in the datapacks on LVS. Below are some areas you could check after an update to make sure everything is working as it should:
- [Zz] Claims; Are the new blocks and entities properly protected? Is there a new way to interact with the world which claims do not yet protect against?
- [LVS] Are the market and Nether Hub still adequately protected when you visit?
- !commands; Do the commands still work as expected? Particularly, do commands which access player data (such as !hoursplayed or !coords) still work and give correct information?
Zestygames
We are always looking for new minigames to add to our selection of Zestygames. If you've got a good idea for, or are already working on, a new minigame or adventure map and would like to submit it to be added as a new Zestygame, please speak with Zedwick.
Zesty Subscribers
Perhaps the easiest way to help out is to offer money to help pay our monthly costs and fund maintenance and development work. Check out the Zesty Subscribers page for more information
