ABParadigm broke our three-week streak of last minute host changes, as well as eschewing standard tradition of starting late, waving their gavel in at a practically early five minutes past!
Topics
Distant Land Claim Etiquette - ABParadigm
ABParadigm raised a concern regarding a string of villages being claimed in far corners of the map as we know it, and queried whether that was permitted. The council generally felt claims over land and structures (ie villages) should not be restricted as villages are a dime a dozen, and claiming is the perk you get from being crazy enough to walk that far, or crazier still; fly (all you elytra users are insulting lady gravity and she will have vengeance on us all)
Zed noted that if a player no longer plays, the guardians can be contacted for permission to use the village, and that generally any claimed land/structures should be clearly marked as such.
There was also concern about a mansion just outside the current world border - council felt that mansions should be reserved for community use. Zed half-recalled that the council had previously ruled that land could be claimed for the council, so that they may vote on its fate. People either recalled that or pretended to. In any event as mansions are a future concern ABP shelved the topic for a future council to tackle as and when the need requires it.
UHC: The 4th Awakens - Zedwick
UH3 was a great success with 18 players, Sneaky regained his crown by murdering everyone apart from the people who were murdered by other less glorious means. Sneaky was modest in his victory, thanking lady fortune, while Dax espoused a conspiracy and Zed jokingly suggested getting rid of the ground altogether
Zed was then oddly quiet and we feared the worst, but luckily the council were on hand with fishing rods, carrots and potatoes and resurrected him back from the real world
Some mysterious punsmith then led the council astray for a few minutes discussing what the title of UHC4 should be. 2UH2C was one of the favourites, with UHC: Tokyo Drift being rejected, followed by a discussion on Fast & Furious chronology. Some suggested that UH3 should not have been used as UH4 was better, but the council unanimously disagreed, saying UH3 was clearly the superior arrangement (citation needed)
In any event Zedwick has announced the next UHC (subtitle tbc) is taking place on June 11th, 6pm GMT! Be there or be not murdered!
Build-Off - LadyBountiful
LadyBountil wanted to remind everyone of next week's build-off, following the success of the prior Easter-themed contest. This build-off is taking place next Sunday, 4pm-9pm BST, theme to be announced on the day!
Zed also encouraged contestants to snap pictures of the builds so as to show them off in the forums, to account for the likelihood that he forgets to do so.
May 28th! Get your building butts in gear!
There was then a short interlude as ABP tried to gauge if there were any more topics. With only 40 minutes gone it seemed like the meeting was going to be unbelievably short, but just as the gracious host was going to grant us our leave, our resident lovable scamp Memery remembered he had a (small) announcement.
Blutopia Chopping Fest - Memery
Having announced a fortnightly celebration of woodchopping on the forums lat week Memery was surprised and a little perturbed to see the entire forest gone in little over a day, despite Dax's attempted to extend it with booby-trapped trees and replanting
Having thrown his point system out the window, Mem doled out the following prizes:
- Getting a street named after them: Swayed_Light, EmpressBethany, GobbleHead, ABParadigm, _Etho, Spectatre
- Designing and building a skyscraper (with blutopian help as required): Swayed_Light, _Etho, Spectatre
- Grand Prize Chop Wizard Extraordinaire : _Etho!
There were several other prizes doled out to all the winners, with uber-chopper Etho receiving 27 shulker boxes of goodies. The council set upon him with celebratory axes. At least I think it was celebratory and not a futile attempt to murder him for his prizes. In any event, he is still alive and Blutopia has a nice bit of land to expand onto!
Nominations/Next Meeting
There were no nominations, and despite the beloved traditional procrastination of the council we were, auspiciously, due to finish the meeting in under an hour! Your humble scribe then volunteered to host the next meeting, due to take place in two weeks!
