Zen is a community town managed by Zedkins and its members. By building in Zen, the constructor or "author" of the building and the claimholders of any claim in Zen accept that Zedkins may change, add to, partially or fully remove their building and claims in the event that they violate a rule or guideline or are otherwise detrimental to the development of Zen. The Zedkins members are obligated to try to contact owners of claims or builds as to the best of their ability if any changes to buildings or claims need to be made, as well as allow for enough time for the owner to react before bigger changes are made, depending on the severity of the issue.

This site will detail processes of how to Zedkins will deal with rule infractions as well as add more details on some regulations. For the building guidelines in the different districts, refer to the Zen page.

Regulations about shops in District 4

Building in a Timely Manner

Upon claiming the area for a shop, it should be built within two weeks, else the claim will be removed to free space for other players. An extension can be asked for at a Zedkin meeting - you can do !nextmeeting to see when the next one is.

Building to Style

Shops should be built to the style of the district they are in, found here. If a Zedkin believes that a shop does not fit the theme for that district, they may bring it up with the owner of the shop, and request the shop be changed to match the theme. If the shop is not changed before the next meeting, the Zedkins will vote on whether the shop matches theme or not, and then give an official deadline of two weeks for the shop to be fixed, else it will be removed. If a Zedkin is unsure whether a shop is to theme or not, they may bring it up during a meeting to be voted on. If the vote reveals the shop to not be to theme, the builder will be asked to change it, and the Zedkins will review the next meeting whether a deadline of two weeks should be given before the shop is removed.

Out of Stock

If a shop has more than 2 thirds of its shop chests out of stock, a Zedkin will mark it with the date on the Zen Log. If they see the person online they will ask the shop owner to restock.

If a shop owner restocks, they should mark so on the Zen Log or ask a Zedkins to mark it for them.

If the shop does not get restocked until the next Zedkins meeting, they will get a "strike" which will be marked on the Zen Log next to the "Out of Stock" entry. Every Zedkins member will be asked to contact the shop owner, when they see them in-game or in case they can contact that person in other ways. They will also be mentioned in the Zedkins Seconds of the meeting. The shops out of stock will be mentioned on a sign on a Billboard in Zen.

After getting 4 strikes in a row for being still out of stock (which would be over 2 months) the owner will be evicted of his shop. The claim will be deleted and the content of the chests, as well as very valuable building materials/decoration will be stored in the Zedkins tower. The owner may claim their things at any point of time of any Zedkins (mark this in the Zen Log). If the owner of the items can't be reached in a year, the items will be transferred to the Zedkins' storage to be used for community projects in Zen. The amount of diamonds or other notable valuable things will be logged in-game and very rare & valuable items will be moved to a permanent storage.

Once a store has been evicted, the building and claim area are free for the next person who wants to open a store. They can "move in" or take any other change to the building (refer to a Zedkins for any questions, preferably communicate your plans beforehand to keep the area pretty)

Lack of Lighting

We want to keep mobs from spawning at night and require every shop and claim to be sufficiently lighted. If a shop has been noted to be spawning mobs (including the roof) a Zedkins member will put up a sign in front of the shop as well as add an entry to the Zen Log. If the owner of the claim has not updated the lighting after 2 consecutive Zedkins meetings (2 strikes for lighting), the claim will be deleted and Zedkins will add the lighting and note so on the Zen Log. The owner of the building may reclaim their plot after, the shop chests themselves will be untouched.
