Somehow this meeting started 35 minutes late and a very late Dax was on time! Nobody scribed (how organized!) so at the end of the meeting Dax was volunteered for the glorious task of writing up the notes from log files and his exellent memery.

Topic 1: Frequent Server Crashes - AlyCatMeow

As many people have noticed LVS has been experiencing frequent crashes, multiple times a day and every day. Zedwick had not noticed this yet, and as everyone was busy delving through log files to find an example for Zedwick the server obligingly decided to crash to demonstrate the problem. Zedwick attempted a fix during the meeting - time will tell if it has worked!

Topic 2: Halloween Costume Contest - Dax23333

This was due to finish this meeting but as Memery was not here to do it this was delayed. Dax announced that this was happening and if anyone wanted to enter had not then there was still time, at least until Memery decides who gets who's skin to vandalize.

Topic 3: Election Regulations (again) - Dax23333

Last week this topic got kicked to the forum to die before anything could be made of it, and die it did as no discussion took place. Perhaps this week we could actually spitball some ideas? Just a thought.

Elections are strange,
We did not discuss at all,
Next week we'll decide.

Topic 4: Proposed Voting Regulation Change - Zedwick

Zedwick has a proposal to change the voting regulations to improve them. This would require any potential votes needing to be brought up/debated in one meeting, then sent to the pre-agenda for the next meeting to let everyone know there will be a vote they might want to have a say on. This would avoid sudden changes in regulations for the council without due debate and participation. To practice what we preach, this will be discussed next week. This would also raise the possibility of votes given for topics on the forum even if somebody cannot make the meeting.

Make votes inclusive,
Have more participation.
More debate is good.

Announcementz

  • In theory, the crashes will stop now.
  • The Casual Buildathon is coming up on the 27th of October. Start 4PM BST, on a Sunday (the 27th of October), ending at 9PM BST.
  • Server migration to new hardware has been delayed. Zedwick will post on the forum when we can expect down time of the various servers.
