Mayor? I ardly knew 'er!

We are in meeting 2 of 3 of our gloriously uncomplicated[citation needed] mayoral election procedure!
Two players registered their interest to run for mayor of Savannah Springs warp, following Dax's vacancy. This meeting Council endorsed their choice of candidate - any candidate receiving two endorsements moved on to the next stage.
In a lovely show of collegiate friendship, both candidates publically endorsed the other while everyone else privately registered their opinions. Both candidates received the requisite endorsements, so nowwwww it goes to a public vote!
There is a poll on the forum where you can choose YOUR CHOICE for the new mayor - the thread has both candidates' explanations on why they think they would be a good mayor.
Voting will run until the next meeting, at which point a new mayor will be announced!

Mayoral hypotheticals

This was a quickfire topic in which Neytan wanted some clarity on what happens in certain mayorly situations as regards to warps! Luckily Zed and LadyB were on hand with equally rapid-fire answers!

What happens if no-one puts their name forward as candidate for mayor elections? - "In the interim, a caretaker will be appointed to maintain the warp and field player queries, per regulation 7.b." In the interim here meaning 'until a new election is called later'! If you have a query about a warp, and are unsure who to field your query to, ask a Zriend or Guardian who will likely be able to point you in the right direction :D
What are the rules for mayors demolishing builds? "Player builds still fall under server rules, which means mayors have no right to destroy player builds without a Guardian's approval per-build. Town rules which state when and why a player's build could be modified or removed are there to provide evidence of the understanding between resident and mayor, so the Guardians are more likely to rule in favour of the mayor."
Does that same rule apply for banned players? "Yes"

So about that new warp?

People were a-wondering about whether any progress was made about getting a new warp town, as it was mentioned last meeting. Zed said that was likely to not be moved on until the new year! There was some discussion on what a good warp location would be - old areas aren't necessarily precluded, as long as there is plentiful resources for new players, as well as space for them to build in!
Spec was then afk kicked and we'd moved on to a new topic so I assume that this is safely in the hands of the guardians to find a nice spot for zookies to call home!

Books & Builds, hype hype hype

Dave5400 updated everyone on his library project, and happily announced the library and monastery/cathedral is nearly complete! He's thinking about doing a ceremony to officially open it, and hinted that it could perhaps be a location of hide-and-seek in the future.
Book donations are still firmly open, so have a rummage through your bookshelves to see if there's any books you can send Dave's way! He has a chest in front of his shop at spawn market you can leave 'em :D

Spec half-updated everyone on the Tiny Build Tour out of Hellscape, thanking everyone for some lovely builds. Watch this space for the forum thread where there will be screenshots galore; prizes will be handed out in-game :D

Zednouncements

There are 'chill games' free to host for all - GerroffMahBeard, Cuberunner, Words With Zedlings, DartZ and ZvZ are free to host for all, and Zesty Subscribers can also host AdvancementHunters and PocketUHC.
There is also an adventuremap called Striding Hero, which comes highly recommended by all who have already given it a go.
January 3rd, 8pm GMT there will be a Striding Hero event! The game holds 11 players at a time, but multiple games can be run if we hit that limit :D
December 27th (that's tomorrow!) there will be a Casual Buildathon, 4pm-9pm GMT
31st December is the final day of the 2020 collection. Anyone who collected all 31 items will get an extra additional item as a reward, and a fancy advancement!
