Ready Zeddy Go!

Ready Zeddy Go! was a gameshow event hosted by Memery on June 4th, 2020. As part of the series of Wednesday events between LVS and ZZ, Memery joined forces with Spectatre to create a series of challenges for the gameshow; two teams battled it out for final glory with the broadcast going live worldwide via twitch.

Once everyone was in their gear Zedwick did some lovely magic to give everyone proper pumpkin and melon heads, and the game was underway!

Round One

ROUND ONE was a quiz game where teams took it in turns answering questions to reveal map pieces, in the hopes of correctly guessing the LVS warp town they were from. Despite two of their team being from ZZ, the pumpkins pulled it out of the bag, correctly guessing two of the maps with only one piece showing.

There was a mild technical issue in that Spec and Mem had forgotten the solution to one of the puzzles. Thinking of a quick solution, Spec handed mem several of the answer tiles, in the hope that he would realise what the Warp town was. It took a second for Mem to realise he was showing all the pieces on stream, but luckily no-one noticed. #flawlessgameshow

Round Two

ROUND TWO was a sort of relay - the team captains had a book listing three items they needed to craft. However, they were told in a verrrrrry roundabout way, taking the form of a haiku, anagram, or terrible advertising slogan for the item. They would tell their team the materials required, their team would have to retrieve them from the hundreds of barrels in the next room. Both teams got all three items correct, with Melons winning the day with the fastest time.

Round Three

ROUND THREE had All Of The Points up for grabs in a mad series of mini-challenges.

The first team challenge, players took it in turns to dive into a pool, where their landing spots were then covered with DEADLY BUZZSAWS. It was even stevens for a great length of time but Melons began dropping like fruit tends to when falling from a great height. When all spots were covered, Pumpkins remained unsplatted.

Next were the individual challenges:

• iiWolfyy and MasterBoy269 were tasked with growing a bamboo the fastest, with MB's poetry and melon-chucking proving to be the greenest thumb - Winner: MELONS
  
• DarthDuck84 and SooprJ were challenged to Buy a Zedcoin from Mem at the 'going rate', Soopr being the quickest to retrieve two clay and taking home the Bonus Prize of a legitimate Zedwork Zedcoin. Winner - MELONS
  
• Captains Mellorian and Dax went head to head to track Spec down, who had escaped into the nether. Mell began with the dubious strategy of running away from the nether portal, but managed to win a second ahead of Dax, who almost died lightspeeding with his elytra. Winner: PUMPKINS
  
• DannyC and ArthasDeservedIt had the hardest and easiest task - dying quickly, and in the most dramatic way possible. With points for flair, Arthas flew 400 blocks in the air and came down with a crash, but Danny pipped him to the post, naming a creeper to make his death extra special. Winner: PUMPKINS
  
• Dyerj123 and iij2000x had to go on a mad dash to retrieve a book from the Blutopia Museum, sign it and bring it back - iij won the day with his speedy Melon feet. Winner: MELONS
  
• DannyC and SooprJ had been tasked with taming a cat, though due to Spec being unable to get the cat out of the box and Danny jumping the starting pistol, this was ruled a draw. Anvil of shame, Danny! Winner: Draw (booo, anvil of shame)
  
• Dyerj123 and iij2000x faced off again for the final challenge - this time they had to survive the longest in a pit of zombies, no punching allowed. There was much punching and Darth also fell in the pit, so a very normal round. iij lasted longer but was shame anvil'd for violence. Winner: Draw (boo, anvil of shame)
  

Our final task was an all-team task again - they each had 32 blocks and three minutes to get their entire team as high above the ground as possible. Both teams went for a 1x1 pillar approach, with Pumpkins reaching for the sky.

Winner: PUMPKINS

Final Scores

With all the scores tabulated by Spec (and then accidentally put the wrong way round on the board), Pumpkins were revealed as the winners of the inaugural Ready Zeddy Go!
Final Score: PUMPKINS 84 - MELONS 59
They received glorious prizes, and the all-important bragging rights. Until the next round, anyway...?
