I would like to raise the topic, recently mentioned but not acted on, of zookie stand upkeep. I know that there was talk of a written book being planned, but have since not seen the idea acted on. I firmly believe this should be a more legitimate topic, fitting of more notice. I also want to modify both the zookie stand (not much, I just think it really could use more storage as well as the written book dispenser, more details later) and the new player farm to add some other useful items to the area, specifically a nether wart plot zone. I want to add other things, such as a simple auto smelter, and a brewing stand. It would not necessarily have the ingredients to make potions already in it, or around the area, but having access to a brewing stand would make some zookies' lives easier. The auto smelter is easy enough to make, I have been using a design by the content creator Ilmango on youtube that uses hopper minecarts and no redstone to distribute the items. The design is at most 4x4x2, not including the output chest. I also want to put a junk chest, appropriately named "free items" SEPARATE from the bonus items dropper. I would also like to stock the bonus items dropper with more enchanted books, potions, and other useful items if possible. The written book dispenser I would like imbedded in the floor in front of most of the other dispensers.

To add some clarification, most of the changes i propose will affect the layout of the new player farm area, not the zookie stand's construction; other than the written book dispenser and added storage in the back of it. I would just like to be sure that the zookie stand not used as a junk chest, which is why that is included in the discussion.

I feel we have so many crop farms at the new player farm, that it would not hurt to take one of the sections for brewing stands, furnaces, and nether wart. Please let me know what you think!

I do think we're a bit too easy on the newbies with that stand to be honest, but never mind. Handouts of free stuff (often quite high quality from what i've seen - reject iron end loot etc etc) are very good to start with and they'll be heading out from spawn anyway so I don't really see the need for autosmelters or brewing stands at spawn as they will not be at spawn for long.

Anyway! I do have my own topic.

I think it would be a wonderfully brilliant idea to have a Zedwork Air Race series where we can put our flying skills to the test in tricky courses set in some of the best scenery LVS (and possibly Zz if they would want in on it too - would think about this later) has to offer. I intend to have a course made for the meeting so we can do a race afterwards, to show off what a brilliant idea this is. Easy enough to just build a course, but what would make this really good is to have a variety of courses in different locations, like a Grand Prix. Just with rocket wings. If people want we could make quite a big event out of this and run it monthly.

I agree we shouldn't have brew stands / enchanting facilities for newbies. From what I see, a lot of the donated armour is enchanted anyway. Also I think the farm looks nice as it is.

Onto Dax's idea for Air Races... This is something I too wanted to work on. I wanted to see if it was possible to have redstone checkpoints, however I noticed this is extremely difficult as Elytra is often going too fast for a tripwire / observer to pick up.

My second preference would be to have 'Item Checkpoints'. Little islands in the sky with a chest full of 'proof items' that the players passed through.

A name I thought of for air racing that I'd like to see used is "Zed Bull Air Races". =D

Also note that a cool redstone iron door contraption to prevent false starts would be very useful. (Think horse racing gates.)

Or iron trapdoors to drop players at the start :D

I can get on board without the modifications to the farm, but would at least like to think about the written book project (this would consist of rules, as well as a section for after-zedling farms useful places, etc.), and pushing for "junk items" to be thrown in the "extra items" chest next to the stand. I have a bunch of feathers to get rid of, so I will see about drafting a copy before the meeting. This book can be just put in the bonus items chest, keep in mind.

As for the race course, I think this is a great idea! Might see about doing checkpoints with multiple layers of string to see if it picks up an elytra player. I recall a content creator on YouTube had that problem, but rectified it using multiple layers of tripwires.

Just a little extra thought on how I imagined the race could work.

The host / builders try to work out the minimum amount of rockets that could be used to complete the course, then an amount (dependant on race length) could be added to that total. That way the 'extra' would have to be used tactically. Spamming rockets for an early lead could lead to a DNF if not careful. :D

Could even ask for an inventory check to be done if you want to prevent cheating! :o

I was feeling the redstone today, no clue why, and thought this was a good excuse to do someting. See if you like this design I did for an elytra checkpoint; the elytra checkpoint works but it is a bit buggy when trying to go in from odd diagonals; and sometimes the tripwire is tricky to hit right on, but nonetheless the counter works and clocks from closer to the ring to further will turn off one by one every time someone goes through it. The clocks run every 4 redstone ticks, which was as close to a second as I could get. World download here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/kuv2ngn0g ... World-.zip

Can confirm I will not be attending this meet.

Struggling to find time for MC in general lately.

Got another topic, a small one. Well, more of an announcement actually.

It is about the end, how you should not be quarrying the main island. Go elsewhere to do that. White gateway has a haste beacon setup nearby. I've also finished the sea lantern coverage that was started but never finished, looks much nicer now.
