We're having a meeting in two weeks time, to be hosted by ABP! Topics? Apologies? Admitting of your greatest fears? Wait... let's not do that last one. Post your topics and apologies below!

I would like to bring up the regeneration script again... It's been a very long time since we've talked about this. Right now 1.14 is on a complete standstill due to some of the major bugs that are keeping it from being server friendly. That being said, we currently have a serious lack of 1.13 content. I have the occasional iceberg near me, maybe a coral reef, but at best I have a few chunks of it before it is completely cut off by old ocean biome. I have searched far and wide to find larger swaths of new content, and I have indeed found some, but the bit I have found has either been claimed, or unclaimed (and hence, I claimed it) and immediately started to pillage for all of the valuable blocks because I know how rare the biome is on the server.

I know we have some ocean content, and I don't want to knock what we have, but I have four heart of the sea and it took me a solid four weeks straight of exploring to find those - most buried treasure maps led to no chest at all. If we had purely 1.13 oceans it would take me at most two hours, and the worst I'd find was that someone else got to it before me. I don't know how difficult the coding is, I just know that having to go so far for ocean content isn't right for what was dubbed "the update aquatic." Something should be done, and soon. We already missed out on woodland mansions, but hopefully 1.14 will give us what we wanted from mansions and those won't be a problem. We really shouldn't miss out on what the update aquatic has to offer, though. I don't know if this is a problem I would have to throw money at, or if it would help to provide more minds to be able to work out the kinks, I just know that this is a serious problem that should be addressed, and I thought I should be the one to address it.

I really would like to know what the community is thinking on this, I can't be the only frustrated one.

I agreed that this script is needed, especially with the 1.14 villages on the horizon.

However, this isnt something we can discuss since it is something only Zed can work on and I imagine its super boring

All we can offer is another friendly poke

There is some discussion on this land regeneration topic here (https://zedwork.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3137) which is relevent to this.

We can certainly discuss aspects of this - although the actual doing of it would be entirely down to Zedwick. Perhaps a less complex solution would be good enough to solve this problem, rather than a super fancy and amazing regeneration script.

I agree Mem, I am sure that this is something we can't help much with, but I'd like to try to find a way to. Dax is right in thinking a temporary solution would be nice. I don't think what we have now is enough to sustain us. I think that at the very least there should be some alternative in place, at least while we're waiting for the script. As for the script itself, this was talked about a very long time ago and I just want to get this to the point where we can start testing it and possibly implement it, because I don't think I have gone more than a week without hearing about something related to this. I just want to know if there is anything that can be done to further advance this, and if there is, how the community can help.

I'm in agreement that we should all gather 'round and put sticky things in Zedwick's beard (thunder crashes ominously) until he agrees to do our bidding. xD

Hello all.

Thought I'd post this message on this thread as well as the Zedling Council thread in case it goes unseen.

All right, so I'm going on holiday this Saturday (20th July) for a week; coming back for a week, then going on holiday again for two weeks. Upshot is I won't be able to attend the next two council meetings (27th July, 10th August). Having an internet free holiday and it's a bit awkward in a caravan anyway...

Thanks all.

Regards,
Dave5400

I just wanted to say that I will postpone my topic in favor of this one, given this thread and its recent replies:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3133

I think this topic is more important given the matters at hand, and, if necessary, we can do my previous topic at the following meeting (which may not even be necessary, if we decide to go through with it). The topic is 1.14, again, but this time in a more serious tone; what to do, how to do it, and why should we or should we not do it. Please go to the linked thread for further discussion, and put your thoughts, opinions, concerns, etc. on there. I will make sure that we treat that thread as a topic of its own. I will be linking the thread during the meeting, and asking everyone to read (if not, at least skim) before we commense with it. There may be a test!

Howdy all,

Unfortunately I will once again be unable to attend.

I am off to a quiz to drink and be merry.

I would much rather be playing Minecraft with you all! Xx
