Nether Resett

Okay so if you havent heard there is gonna be a 1.5 with a new ore. Nethrack quartz. :o But since the nether is old players would have to go far to find new chunks. So here is my porposition; a full nether reset, every single chunk updated so players can find the ore more easily. What do you guys think :?:

I don't like this idea. Think about the nether brick platforms people have built to support efficient wither spawning, and other things of this manner.

Aren't there a few people that actually live in the nether?

Since I am not an active member I guess I don't have much of a say in the matter but I do think it's a good idea to reset it :D

I wouldn't mind a nether reset. I understand people have mob grinders or platforms, but people have to go farther and farther to look for glowstone or netherbrick. I know that with the coming update netherbrick won't be a problem, but this would be a nice way to have everyone who currently uses the server start on the same page with nether materials.

I understand where you are coming from Hyl, things like chester's blaze spawners and other mob grinding areas would be an unfortunate loss. However, they will be replaceable and with the new netherack to netherbrick addition it wouldn't take long to create the same wither platforms again. It makes more sense to update the nether than to walk thousands of blocks just for a new chunk.

I support the nether reset idea. ((Though I do suggest anyone living in the nether be notified before hand. If ye know of a nether resident, please lead them here or inform them of this idea.))

I agree with demon to reset the nether. This is mainly because before the 1.4 update all nether fortresses are essentially lifeless (though the rest of the nether seems to be like that for the most part these days). All I ask for is a warning of sorts in order to dismantle the creations I have in the nether. I do fear that with the nether reset, it will put a strain on the server for some time, considering all the players are so spread out now, going through different portals and trying to find a new place to make a base camp in the nether.

that's my two cents,
