Zedwork is down!?!?!

Zedwork has been down for a couple of hours, as far as I can tell, which was caused by power loss due to an electrical storm in the area it is hosted. The data-centre has restored power, and it working to bring all servers back online. Judging by their progress, the server should be accessible to me within the next 2 hours. There could be data loss caused by this, so I will need to check for errors etc. So we may not be online until much later. Sorry if anyone has been trying to get on in this time.

Don't panic, it'll be back online soon enough. And I have plenty of off-site backups in place, so I should be able to recover from any data loss if it has occurred.

To bo honest, it isn't looking hopeful. They're still ploughing through the different servers, and restoring the drives lost int he power failure. There's no word on how long it will take, so I think it might be best to assume it won't be back up until tomorrow.

Therefore, I declare today the official holiday period for Zedwork! Hooray! ^_^

Yikes. Oh well its a good time for heads t cool and such. Still a misfortune. i dont mind. WHyyy

They are apparently still working on this, and I'm not getting any specific report on our own server. I can only get "they're still working at recovering volumes" and nothing to let me know if my volume is supposedly recovered or in the queue. I've been waiting in the hopes we'd get the world back without losing any time due to going back to an old backup, but I may just closed the server box down and get a new one set-up and restore from an off-site backup. We're sure to have lost some hours of time in doing that, but we'd get back online sooner.

What do you think we should do?

or

Terminate the current server instance and set-up a new one, restored from the latest off-site backup.

The world goes off-site every 6 hours, plugin data goes off-site ever 24 hours. The plugin data would include claimblocks accrued, claims you've made or deleted, players banned etc.

I suggest we give it the rest of the day and resolve with offsite restore tomorrow.
