How to create a shop?

I'd like to set up a shop in cityregion, but I believe all the plots in cityregion are taken. Zedwick, do you have any plans for expansion? If so, I'd like to own a plot so I can create a shop.

Plots do open up from time to time, there's currently a waiting list which I've added you to. I feel the market isn't popular enough to merit adding additional shops just yet. But given time, I'm sure the number of shop plots will go up

I believe LaLa and SNTRL both have shops in their own regions, near their homes. Me and my friend loliamloltome are starting a town-like build and we were wondering if we could set up a shop there rather than cityregion.

You certainly can!

I'm sorry, I've not put together a guide on creating shops signs yet. They can be created anywhere.

Briefly, the shop sign format is:

Line 1: [Item]
Line 2: Buy 10 for 1e
Line 3: Sell 20 for 1e
Line 4:

The first line is the name of the item, surrounded by [ ] e.g. [Bread]

The second line is the amount of the item you are selling, and the price. Read as if you were the customer. Buy 10 for 1e = your shop offering 10 bread in exchange for 1 emerald.

The third line is the same, but where you would offer to buy their item(s) from them. Sell 20 for 1e = Your shop offering to give 1 Emerald for every 20 bread the player gives.

The fourth line should be left blank. If the sign is set up correctly, this will automatically fill in with your name.

Capitalisation is important. You may find that the item you are trying to sell is not set up correctly in the shop system (it doesn't have a name assigned); if this is the case just send me a message with the item id and the name of the item. I'll add it. You can just use the Item ID, though. e.g. [43]

Hey Zed, would it be possible to post a topic or post about the names of items for shops? I always get confused about the correct name and spelling of items on signs. For example i spell the word color like color, other people spell it colour. I find my signs dont work half the time, so a list of the items would be greatly appreciated!

@Insti, are the items you're having problems with have 2 words or more in the title? if so, type it like this: [Word1Word2]
That's what I did. If it still says the item is incorrect, just put the item ID down instead! [ すωﾚ￡゛らUぃ](；≧∇≦)ﾉﾉ*:.。*:.。.:*★

Well item ID's are a problem for me and probably most people. No one has all the item Hex values memorized so people will constantly be looking it up on Google and wasting time. Having the name of the item is efficient and easier to tell what you are buying, Having a list of the correct names for items on signs would be a wiser choice, in my opinion.

You know, you can place an item frame with that item above/below the chest. That way they'd know what they were buying ╮(─▽─;;)╭

You can shift+click on the front of a chest to place the item frame upon it also, I believe.

I don't actually have a full list of item names. Many have names, some do not. It's a bit.. eh. I can add names for those which don't work out of the box.
