Mumble/Murmer for chatting

Postby iamjohn2407 » Tue Jun 04, 2013 1:32 am

I've spoken with a few about having this feature on the server, while some say to use Skype it and those similar to it use far too many resources(processor, ram, bandwidth, etc.) especially for those with computers that are already pushing it to run minecraft. from what I've looked up mumble/murmer is a light app to use and can be integrated very easily into a server for just that servers use so no spamming. this would be nice especially with a community such as zedwork where there are so many people that do enjoy chatting with each other while playing but have to stop everything just to type...

this is just my thoughts on the subject as someone how would like to be more connected to the community and help to enhance the overall game play for everyone.

I think some people use team speak as well, that is free and easy to use as well.

I also think TS would be a good tool for chatty players. Maybe a Zedwork TS room could do the job. Players could just jump in the chat room with others to have a good ol' chin wag!

I use TS quite a lot for other games, it seems to work well and as Hyl said it's free....and everyone likes free stuff right?

I would love to see a mumble/Teamspeak channel for Zedwork
It would make a nice and easy way to converse with people on the server.

The same for me. It'll get a disaster, because of my german accent  , but it won't stop the gaming to write.
And I'm a really slow two-finger-eagle-seek-type, tbh!
Skype is no option for me, as my laptop is too old running it. I've already probs running MC and my browser the same time (for voting ofc 8-) ).
A small solution would be the best for all of us, i think.
