Forum Feature: Posting Images

Postby Zedwick » Fri Aug 23, 2013 3:17 pm

To assist with posting images, and making them look good on the forum, I have added two new BBCodes you can use.

These are: [BigImg] and [Imgur].

[BigImg] will resize your linked images to conform with the width of our forum (720px), along with this addition I have limited the allowed width of images to 720 pixels when using [Img]. For any images larger than this, you must use [BigImg].

[Imgur] allows embedding albums from http://www.Imgur.com, so you can easily upload your images there and then display them in in a post on our forums (without needing to upload each individually, and displaying them one after the other down the page).

Below are two examples of how these look, and how larger images used to look using [Img]:

Wow!
Anonny and Hylindar, what texture pack is that, or how did you archieve that?! The lighting and shades look really nice, but the blocks are essentially the same, right?
Is it a ''heavy to run'' texture pack?

I think that it is just a shader. I do not run anything that nice since i don't know how :/
You can prolly find out though...to Google!

I'm using Chocapic13's Shaders with the default texture pack. Chocapic13's shaders is the only shader I've managed to get working properly in 1.6.2, as the GLSL shaders mod isn't officially updated to work in 1.6.2 yet. It's a massive headache getting it working, and yeah it's pretty "heavy to run". My GTX650 runs at around 20fps max, down to a crawling <1fps in certain areas at certain times of the day. If you've not got a dedicated graphics card for gaming, you probably shouldn't try it :P

I just use it for taking pretty pictures :)

OK thanks for the replies!

But Hylindar didn't use the standard texture pack? Because the water looks real nice.
I have never tried a texture pack, because I like the blocks to look as much they are supposed to. Is there a texture pack with only small improvements?

The images were taken by me, and I was just using that shader. It does change how the water appears, makes it clearer. But it's still the default texture pack. I agree, I like how the default textures look. There are a few texture packs which slightly improve on it, or completely throw out the original textures but try to keep things looking in the same 'style'. I'm not sure what they are called, sorry. I've always just used the default.
