Server region map

Server region map

Postby Hylindar » Thu Oct 03, 2013 1:09 pm

I am working on a coordinate based map of all the regions. I am noting the general landscape/biome, the name, and coordinates. SO far I only have from 0,0 to 3000,3000 done. I will likely do out to 5 or 6k in every direction, and then add regions by request to it. Also in my travels, if I come across something cool(notable region) I am noting what region, what the attraction is, and who built it or lives there.

This should help when planning a new horse highway/ nether hub. As we all know a little organization goes a long way in those kinds of things. Also provide a pretty image as the biome association are color coated.

Have a cool region people should see? Let me know and I'll add it :)

Want your distant region on the map? Let me know!

Don't want to participate? Too bad, I am going to stalk you anyways ^_^ jk lol

Requested Regions:
Zokonit
Zedville
Dingotown

It's not in game maps. I'm making an excel file at the moment. A big grid, not unlike our region system. I cna put it as a shared file or whatever after it progresses more.

Would be cool, zokonit definitely joins, if you want to, I know you cant resist ;P. Anyways, hyl, what would happen to the ppl or regions that don't want to join this, those people with secret region that do not wish to be bothered? Anyways, I have done something like that before, but only on the way to zokonit from dorset (which isnt too long), maybe I could pass you a bit of info, help things get easier?

I like this idea alot! I can see a map being very usefull since I always wondered where I was in relation to other people. Go ahead and add my stuff to the map if you want dude, looking forward to getting some perspective :)

Hyl, this is great stuff, thank you.
Do please add Dingotown, where I have my home, if it's within the scope of your map. (Am away travelling IRL at the mo so I am unable check the co-ords and post them here). Can't wait to see the results of your chart making!

Hey Hylindar,

Didn't notice you already made a topic :).
I made a topic in which people can sign up to help rebuilding the nether horse highway and also give the coords of their region (i will write those down in the google docs so you can see them).
I sent you my map, shall we collaborate and make the map of the server together (lets share the coords in google docs?)? I don't think we need to discover everything by foot/horse. I just tp'ed to regions and wrote down the coords of the nether portal that was connected to the horse highway, but I think it's important indeed that people can decide to keep their region a secret.

our systems are vastly different for tracking. We;ve been chatting in PM about it though, we'll figure it out.
