Oh, okay. The Zed has spoken. I guess not everyone would have been able to use it anyway.

I'd just thought it would be nicer than Skype.

I guess, if someone has some private questions, there is always the pm function here. ;)

Using voice is something which has been brought up before, but dismissed by the majority in the council at the time. Membership has changed, so perhaps it will be recieved differently. I would like to provide a voice server, but am most concerned with ensuring the voice environment to be both a safe and positive experience for all.

I guess we can bring it up and see what everyone thinks. My thought was for the council to do the meeting over voice instead of text, not for the whole server to have a public voice chat where people could come and go as they pleased. But I guess we can discuss in on the meeting

Sorry!
Yet again I'm not able to be there tonight :(.

Even though I will try to be at following meetings, if the maximum amount of members is now in the council and a lot of active people want to join, you are allowed to give my seat to someone else. I think that is fair since I have not been able to contribute much to last meetings. In this case I will re-apply if another seat is available.

Substitute Mayors

As an active builder within the forest hills zone, I've grown to notice that only one of our mayors is occasionally online. I'm sure this is the case with several other zones as well. I was wondering if the possibility of electing vice mayors, or "sub" mayors for designated zones can be a plausible thing to bring up in the council meeting. When I first joined the server I instantly wanted to start building. I ventured over to the forest hills zone and read all the rules, one of which stated that a player may only build in a plot that has been designated to him/her by the zone mayor. Because of this, I decided to start building moderately far away from the warp, as there were never any mayors online to aid me in my search for a plot of land. I think this is a huge reason as to why community projects and just generally the community in the forest hills zone seems a bit.. dead. This said, I know a lot of new players would rather traverse thousands of blocks as opposed to building next to essentially the most accessible point of the area (to avoid griefing, stealing etc.), but I still believe that there are others, like me, that have had desire for a plot close to spawn, but simply haven't been granted one due to the lack of active mayors.

Electing vice-mayors/"sub" mayors for certain zones would obviously combat this. If this idea turns out to be liked by others, I'd also state my opinion of whom should be elected for such roles (Zedling and up for obvious reasons). I also don't think those with the merit of "trusted" should be the first ones that come to mind when thinking of such a role. I personally think that if this idea is approved then there could be ballots or some sort of voting process for candidates which suit the role (i.e users that play regularly, actually care about these areas and have a notable reputation for positive reasons.

Spawn warps

I'm sure that over the past weeks a lot of people have noticed that 1/4 of the warps at spawn is currently under construction. "new zone coming". I'm not sure whether it's worthwhile writing anything about this apparent new zone, as plans for it may have already been decided, but I think that if it hasn't then we should also host a ballot for players to suggest what zone they'd like, and then create a poll featuring the best suggestions.

I agree with this, and has me wanting to mention the Ex. Hills Warp, as I am the only active mayor. I feel as if (for Ex. Hills) electing a completely new mayor to help me maintain the place would be a bad move, unless bartman51 states he is fine with it, or if the council thinks its time to get an active player to take on the role. (similar to Forest Hills, there are 2 mayors of this warp).

I also believe that some others may not like this, especially the mayors of each warp. They may have big plans for the place (I'm sure Memery and Danny have plans for Forest Hills, they just haven't been as active recently, or I just haven't been on when they are on). It is the council, and the mayor's decision if they want this to happen.

A point I wish to raise: I was talking to other players about things, and a player mentioned having a social media team, to promote Zedwork, and all of Zedwork's Youtube series. I thought I would mention this, and see what the council thought of it.

This does not apply to the meeting, was just wondering if I could get my forum name changed to my IGN. :)

i'd want to leave the inactive mayors as governing mayors responsible for decision/rule-making, but let the council elect stand in officials to help manage the day to day runnings of the town helping shape it in the original vision of the founding mayors.

Though if mayors go entirely without word for significant time, the council may choose to replace them anyway - I just feel this should be avoided.
