So I was browsing through the MCSL page when I saw this server. I initially joined to be nicely welcomed by the rest of the players, so continued going around spawn. I picked up some food, and thought it was strange to be allowed to break blocks in spawn. So I see if anything else is breakable, and then get sent to jail. Whilst justifying myself, I get banned without warning by a clearly ignorant staff member.

If they have the incapacity and lack of patience to listen to a new player, who could have been able to help your server by increasing your pathetic amount of votes on MCSL, then they should not be managing over a playerbase.

Looking at the discussion section of the server site, it seems that many players also had the issue. While I do not wish to ever return here, you should also get a change of rules for something so minor to be a permanant ban.

You were not banned by a person, but auto-banned 1 minute after being sent to jail. The entire process is automated; it is set up to catch players who feel they are entirely justified to break blocks other players have placed and remove them from the server before they can do too much damage.

Ruining the hard work of other players on the server because you wanted to "see if anything else is breakable" is not okay, and will not be permitted. It's worth noting that the block you broke does not drop as a block, meaning you could not replace it. You decided to grief a build without intention to repair the damage you had done. Imagine if all new players decided to break 1 or 2 blocks like you had? Is it really fair for you to expect those who play on this server to clean up after your selfish behaviour?

I will concede that informing jailed players that they will soon be banned would be a good improvement, would hopefully help to avoid the misunderstanding that their pleas were simply ignored. It's on my todo list.

I advise that you think of others before acting in future. As you have just found out, not all servers are as accepting of such behaviour.

I know this is not my place to say this but...

Appealer, I dont think its fair you joined the server broke a block because you thought it was unprotected then appealed and while appealing had the nerve to call our votes pathetic and comment on our player base when you wasn't even on long enough to realise we have a pretty darn good player base.

Oh and I dont dare forget to mention that the website says that LVS is ran off trust and people who break this trust are quickly removed...

Think about that!
