[LVS] 'Warp X' Mayor Elections!

Heyo!

LVS is getting a brand new warp town soon, and that town needs a mayor to run it! This is a great way to get involved in a large community project and help out loads of players for when they join the server!

The Warp does not have a name yet, but that means the Mayor gets to choose a fancy name (probably involving Hills I would imagine...) for it!

So, how is this gonna work?

To run for mayor, you need to:

1. State your IGN (In-game name.)
2. Why you are good for the job?

Why I'm good for the job: I believe I'm good for the job because I love to be involved in community projects, and I am an active player. I have plenty of ideas for a warp town, and I would love to put them into reality. I have attended many council meetings, and I am open to any ideas that other players may have. I am very passionate about this, and I wish to give new players to the server an awesome town to feel welcome in, and for all players to enjoy!

I'm not running, I just thought I would point out for others that go to run that Zedwick described the new warp site to be between an extreme hills, roofed forest, and a normal forest with a river running down the center. He also said there was a desert nearby.

He also said the Zriends will be building the nether hub, and that the elected mayor will have access before the warp is fully erected. Not sure if that matters in the slightest, but the name may also reflect the nether hub and how it is "referred to in chat" so I thought I'd include that as well.

Although not necessary, if folks are going to include "warp names" as part of the electoral card that bit of info may help.

Why I'm good for the job: In my opinion, I might be good for the job of being the mayor of the new town (Currently "Warp X") because I do have experience running a town (see: Domount) and I think I do have some great ideas that I've tried in Domount and seen in other towns (Like: a railway around town that would be capable of transporting players from one side of town to the other, Community auto farm areas, a market place for the town and nice small activities on town, mini-games like golf and clubs for parrots.) that I would like to implement into a new Warp Town, that would allow new players to enjoy the nice and warm atmosphere of the server and community. I also recently joined the Council, and am hoping to get ideas and feedback on the ideas I have suggested here.
A name I suggest to use: Oasis. In my opinion, it's the best match for the description of the area by Zedwick on the Council meeting on the 15th of July.

Why I'm good for the job: There are only a few main reasons I believe that I would be a great mayor for the newly announced warp, the first reason is my experience on the server, I have been playing the server for a number of years, in that time I've racked up around 1400+ hours and have always been a positive person on the server, I've tried my best to help others and keep people happy and like they're welcome to server. Obviously we're all human and I've had a few little spats with people but I have learned from these experiences and they have bettered me. The second reason would be that while I'm not the most active builder, when it comes to community stuff, I like to be involved and hands on with things, helping with the renovation of the end shops as well as being the main project leader for the last two Halloween events, I believe this experience would help me to create an active and amazing warp for people to enjoy.

A name I suggest to use: While I would love to use the name "Albatross Town", I get the feeling that might not be welcome.

After giving it some thought, potentially something like Zookie Town would do nicely, that or Newcomer Village

I want to run for mayor of Warp X. I think it might be great fun to be in on this from the beginning.

Why I am good for the job:
I don't think I would be good, that's why it's taken me so long to do this. I'm concerned I'm not playing at the right time of day to coordinate with blues, and I've seen how much time and energy people put into warp towns, and to be perfectly frank, it's frightening. Plus, I have this idea that I don't play well with others. I can't say I've got any experience running a town, or helping with community projects. All I've ever done in that way was carry supplies for the border tunnels. Having said that, this might be an opportunity to try these things.

I also don't really have any ideas for town activities and amenities. I feel like we need a warp for zookies who are looking for "the wilderness", so I propose a very minimal theme, like the wide spot in the road where there's the only inn between two distant cities. What's there could just be the product of those who travel through and end up staying in the area?

I'm not going to propose a name, as I haven't seen the site, and there might be something there that would trigger a name.

Why I am good for the job: I think I am good for the job because I have the experience of practically mayoring a town (Forest Hills). I have took an extended leave in which I lost the Co-Mayor position but I am back now and am ready to take on a new challenge.
The problem I had with Forest Hills is I was trying to make it into a new warp but as it was run down and tired out, it was hard to do. If you have seen what I done with Forest Hills, it gives you an idea of what I could do with a new warp.

On top of my town running experience, I have the time and experience to run various events. I planned a few for ForestHills, unfortunately none were popular enough.

This new town is what we need and I think I am ready to take on the challenge of mayoring this town from Beginner to Retired.
The town in my opinion should be made by the community, other then paths and the spawn area (and of-course nether hub) it would be nice to have it mainly built by the people who choose to live there etc.

I would like to propose a name also: River Hills, based on "with a river running down the center"

Why I am Good for the Job: I am considered new to LVS, but have been playing zz for a few months now. I would be a good candidate because I love working with the community. If I were mayor, it wouldn't be all of my ideas. I would represent everyone. It would also be a great opportunity for me to meet the players of LVS, and learn more about it. I would do my best to solve any problems that may occur.

Why I would be good for the job:
I am an active player on LVS and have been playing on this server alone for years and have since managed to build up 850+ hours on this server. I have helped and put a lot of time into many community projects in the past such as the border tunnels and have been a council member since late 2015. I have many ideas for the project that I would like to put into effect and would like to use mine and others on the council or people who just play here to make this new warp town a great success. I have had experience with running large scale projects in the past and didn't give up. I will keep improving the warp even after it is finished to make it a better place for all zedlings. I am willing to put in many, many hours of time and effort into this warp like I have put into community projects in the past. I am happy for others to help me make this town, so we can create the town we want as a community, not one that a single person wants.

I think we should think of the name after we have seen the site and seen the characteristics of the town.

Why im good for the job:
Im good for the job because i am a very social member of the server, also i previously have been involved in managing people living at my own base so accepting people into my base to help them get started on the server.
also i love to try and get involved with as many community projects as as i can.
so that is a short summary of why i think i would be a great mayor for Warp X.
i will not conclude all of my skills as that would be too long for everyone to read also ive rambled on enough.

As of right now, If by some sheer luck I do get to be the mayor for the new warp, the town will be called Albatross Hills and will feature a statue of an albatross.
