Topics of Conversation
Christmas Dinner News
Brought By LB
An area next to Bob’s Place has been selected. They would like to have a path there with a building at the end for hosting the Christmas dinner. LB invites Christmas pixel art on that land plot. Some discussion ensued about what rules would apply to Christmas plots, such as size limits and designated areas. Zed decided that different plot sizes would be acceptable. The path and building layouts will be built by LB tomorrow (12/4) and players can help decorate with Christmas builds from then. This was agreed upon by the council.
Marketing Center
Brought by PanoramaJos, Padaa
PanoramaJos mentioned the idea of a travel agency to aid with tourism on the LVS server. Players could promote their places if they want others to visit. The marketplace was considered, even though it would be off-limits to Zookies; however, this is positive, as new players (and potential griefers) should not have access to player build and house locations. The same applies to the nether hub as a possible location. Panorama was offered the chance to be in charge of the agency, but denied due to lack of online time. It was decided that a new building would be constructed in the market for this purpose, mainly built by the Zriends. The idea received massive praise, as many have builds and towns to promote.
Blutopia Is Still Relevant, Come Build Here
Brought by Memery
Blutopia’s warp from spawn is now gone. However, it is still relevant, as 500x500 blocks of new land have just been created for new construction. A second iron farm is also under construction in the newer area, allowing for greater distribution. New entrants who are interested in a plot should speak to a blue player, who will promptly set them up with a plot. Tours are also offered by the blues and other residents, including myself (ACERPROSPY). There was discussion as to whether Blutopia should be considered a warp town and would need to provide warp town reports, but the council decided against it since the warp was only temporarily present for the build-off. Residents are also encouraged to help the city with expansion and development, and will be paid for their assistance. Finally, the charged creeper farm was promoted.
Community Rewards Announcement
Brought by LB
Zed and LB want to be able to reward players for their community effort. There will be a “Zedling player of the week” award to be awarded every council meeting in recognition of services to the community.
This week, it goes to Aravero for welcoming support of new players! Congratulations!
Mayor Reports
Hayfever Hills
(from BigBuilderAl)
- There is a new addition to the Hayfever Hills Nether Hub, a button that opens a door to a mini-hub inside of one of the sub hubs. The main goal of this is to connect more people to the hub.
- Hayfever to spawn tunnel is still on the to-do list
- There is a new path to the nether portal. Details will be posted on the Hayfever Hills thread
- Wants to use a forum thread to receive feedback on the mini hubs
- Would like trusted ranks to help with where people can and can’t build at the warp
Forest Hills
Due to absence of Forest Hills Mayor, nothing to report
Jungle
Due to the absence of Jungle Mayor, nothing to report
Extreme Hills
(from ScarySpider and SneakySkeleton):
- Currently working on nether tunnel, they feel that it is going well and they are around halfway to their destination
- Nothing else to report
Savannah
(from Dax)
- An ugly thing was demolished (just like last meeting)
- Nothing else to report
Swamp Town
(from Dax)
- Since his resignation was refused, still does nothing
- Nothing else to report
Spawn/Zpawn
(from LB/Zed)
- Spawn has changed up a bit recently to make it easier to navigate and less likely that players will confuse the traps as part of the spawn area
- Makes it easier for players to find warps so that they can get to new land faster
- Fences are now too high to jump
- Player builds in spawn are being rotated to allow more players to show off their building skills
Council Nominations
- PanoramaJos
- One227
It was decided that One227 is the newest member added to the council! Congratulations!
Next Meeting
The next council meeting will be hosted by Memery in the city of Blutopia on December 17th.
