The End Field Trip

This week, I thought it would be a wise idea to bring my trusty steed, Sterling, to the meeting. Unfortunately it turns out that you cannot take a horse through a Warp Pad, so while everyone got settled in at the HOMINIX tower, I began my journey down the South Border Tunnel. Barely had I reached Blutopia, when I was asked about the end.

Recently, I, AB and Dax tried to plug up the holes around the End Island Portals. We summoned the dragon a few times, and thought we did a grand job. Unfortunately it turns out that the dragon doesn't break blocks around the portals, but using them does. In between being bold and heroic, flying head on against the might of the dragon, we also noticed that the Island Portals can leave you in really dangerous positions on that circle walkway thingy.

As I gently rode Sterling up the central Minecart Spiral, bashing my head on every block on the way, everyone seemed to begin agreeing that our End needs a spring clean. (To say the least.) To make matters worse, we were all informed that the ZZ server has a waayyy cooler End than our LVS one. A wave of disbelief and curiosity washed over the whole council... just as I poked my head into the meeting room and began to hitch Sterling, everyone decided to leave for the ZZ End to ensure that LVS wasn't indeed second best.

After confusing the daylight out of the ZZ server, and relearning the Region Post system we made it to The End and discovered that although we weren't second best, we were... erm.... The ZZ End is really nice. =/

We hurried back to the meeting room to formulate a plan. After a furious brainstorming session, we seemed to agree that we would build something that Mojang could feature on the Minecraft.net front page. That it would be 1.13 compatible, even though we weren't all willing to use Snapshots... and that we would have a forum thread. (Coming.) Zed informed us that this was a genuine full-blown competition. Dax suggested a theme of a Roman Colosseum large enough for dragon battles. Everyone thought that was cool, but all encouraged each other to express creativity. So start a creative (or survival I guess), go kill the dragon and build a monument fit for the Gods around its corpse.

All this excitement left us hungry but luckily we were given a 'WolfGuy Fancier Fish'. As the whole end is likely to become a construction site, the signs about Anvils will probably be coming down.

Will water break stuff in 1.13?

Maybe. Hopefully not.

A new frontier by UKilledKenny26

A new place for us all to visit! UKilledKenny26 has invited us to Fort Daxio! It turns out that this isn't an entire town dedicated to Dax, but is in fact a reference to something else. I wasn't sure what, so I googled Fort Daxio.

Fort Daxio is located on the western side of the Cliffkeep Mountains, north of Emon.

The Cliffkeep Mountains are a system of mountains in northern Tal'Dorei.

Tal'Dorei is the name used by humans to refer to the entire continent in which the kingdom of Tal'Dorei rests.

Tal'Dorei is a kingdom in Exandria where much of the action of Critical Role takes place.

Critical Role is a Dungeons and Dragons live stream done by a group of voice actors.

... but if you want to visit Fort Daxio, I suggest you visit the Brown Area of the Spawn Hub and look for UKilledKenny's flags.

Nominations

Unsure of who was actually a member of the council, we kindly asked any visitors make themselves known. Tim1996 told us that he wasn't a council member. I asked him if he'd like to be. He then was nominated and voted onto the council. We agreed that this was a joyous moment and WolfGuy began to reminisce about ZZ meetings while the announcements were made.

Announcements

After many years of work, Dungeon Dash is almost ready for final release. No crowd funding, no early access season pass, just Dungeon Dash 1.0. The finished product. There will be plenty of opportunity to get involved with an open beta Zesty spectacular on the weekend of the 30th... and then again on the 6th. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help iron out any remaining creases by letting Dax know if you notice anything that seems a bit off. Other than the whole blindly sprinting through dungeons while everything and everyone tries to kill you.

There's also a UHC tonight, in about 5 mins. So you probably will have already hacked each other to pieces by the time you read this. If you read this.

Dear Diary, Hopefully I can make it to the next Build Off which will be on the 25th March, from 4pm till 9pm.

Keepsakes

Having finished reminiscing, WolfGuy told us that on ZZ (that other server), as well as having a superior end, they also give each other silly special blue hats to wear at their meetings.

Probably well over our non-enforced meeting time limit, we said that we could talk about gifts for new members another time. We'll probably agree to rename an item to go in an item frame... although who knows. Could be a real life thing. Zedwork branded, custom fitted and delivered spring wear. Little LVS embroidered shorts.

Next Meeting

At our newest member's place on the 24th March. Looking forward to it Tim. Same time, same IP.
